Chunky Cable Hat



Chunky Cable Hat

Items:
60 peg 1/2 gauge loom
looming hook
stitch holder
2 to 1 skeins of yarn depending on yardage. (60yds)

Terms:
CO: Cast On
EW: E-Wrap
P: Purl
6RCC: 6 Stitch right cable cross: Skip pegs 1,2, and 3, EW pegs 4,5, and 6, place loops 6, 5, and 4 in that order on the stitch holder, now take working yarn in front of the stitch holder and EW pegs 1, 2, and 3 in that order. Now pick up with your hook loops 1, 2, and 3. Place loop 3 on peg 6, and loop 2 on peg 5, and loop 1 on peg 4. Now from stitch holder place loop for on peg1, and loop 5 on peg 2 and loop 6 on peg 3. Tighten your loops from peg 1 to peg 6.
D: Decrease
DSCOF: Draw String Cast Off

60 peg loom: Circular:
EWCO 60 pegs
Row 1-5: EW1 P1
Row 6: EW
Row 7-12: EW2, P1, EW6, P1, (repeat 5 more times.)
Row 13: EW2, P1, 6RCC, P1 (repeat 5 more times)
Repeat rows 7 through 13 3more times
Then repeat rows 7 through 12
Decrease by every other peg toss bottom loops over and DSCOF.
You're done.

  5. i have used this yarn on a larger gauge loom (41 peg knifty knitter) and the yarn is so dense & makes the hat heavy. is using the 1/2” loom going to do the same thing? also can i use a 70 peg 1/2” loom or a 3/8” loom? thank you so much!!
